Download ZoeOS v1.41 for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP

Installing the ZoeOS evaluation is a simple two step process which is outlined on this page. Before you proceed with the installation please make sure you have setup a bi-directional midi connection to your E4 - this means connecting both the midi in and out ports on your E4 to a midi interface that ZoeOS will have access to. If you have a SCSI card in your PC, you will also be able to connect to the E4 with a SCSI cable. Do note however that not all communications can be done over SCSI. A SCSI connection to the E4 allows you to transfer sample data to/from the E4/PC and you might also need to install ASPI 4.7 from Adaptec (which is a SCSI driver of sorts). Note, you will need the midi connectivity with or without a SCSI connection.

Bi-directional Midi .. for control/communications (required)
SCSI .. for sample transfer (optional)

STEP 1

ZoeOS requires a compatible Java Virtual Machine

You can check to see if you already have a compatible Java Virtual Machine
by going to the Windows command prompt and typing "java -version".

In the likely event that you do not have a VM of version 1.5.0 SE or greater, you will need to download and install the Java J2SE v 1.5.0 (JRE) from Sun Microsystems. Java is FREE, STABLE, SAFE software developed by an industry heavyweight and installation of the JVM is painless, taking about a minute on the average PC.
